So yesterday morning started off just like any other day! My husband got up and got ready for work but I decided to lay back down for a few more minutes before having to get up and get my oldest son ready for school. As I was laying there int he bed, I heard the back door open and I knew it was Bobby coming back in. I figured he just forgot something like his wallet or his sunglasses.
When I finally got up and went into the kitchen, I saw a dozen red roses, a box of chocolates, a heart shaped cookie baking set and a card. Valentine's Day came early!! Now, I was so wonderfully surprised and the whole set up just made me smile. I was grinning from ear to ear and just saying to myself, "Oh that sweet hobbit of mine!" But then I started laughing! It wasn't Valentine's Day!
Bless his heart, I know he had to have spent a considerable amount of time trying to find the perfect card and he was probably afraid that if he had forgot then it would make me upset which is totally crazy because I would never be upset with him over something like that. A simple, "Happy Valentine's Day," would have meant the world to me.
I couldn't help to call him though and when he answered his phone, I said, "I love you, and that was sooooo sweet of you but, Valentine's Day isn't until next Tuesday." For a moment, he didn't know what to say but finally he said, "Well CRAP! I feel like an idiot!"
I told him he wasn't an idiot. It was very sweet and he made me smile and he made me laugh. If it makes him feel any better, he can just do it all over again next Tuesday! LOL! Just kidding!
I'm going to go shopping for him this weekend. I have no idea what to get him! He already has just about everything so I'm going to be so clueless as to what to give him but I'm positive he'll love anything I get him.
I'll probably cook his favorite meal that evening. I'm thinking Meatloaf, Mashed potatoes with gravy and Green beans and probably a cheesecake for desert! Then afterwards,
I'm sure we'll spend the evening watching the new Breaking Dawn movie that's coming out this Friday! I can't think of a better way to spend the evening than with him. The kids will have to go to bed early!
I hope everyone else has a wonderful Valentine's Day! God bless you all and stay safe! Thanks for reading my blog!
